  • Escapees RV Park

I haven’t written in awhile!  Just figured out that I don’t have thumbs…what’s with that!  I have been doing my best to chase all of the squirrels, ducks and horses I can.  This morning was good, I treed three squirrels and saw three more that were smart enough to run.  I like Livingston, Texas  Mom likes the rain, but I am not that crazy about it – it cuts into my walking time!  Just met a new boyfriend.  Another Cardi […]

  • Oklahoma – Masterworks

    thumbnail

Arrived in Bennington on Monday, October 21st – in the rain of course!  We sure have been having weather.  Guess what, I love it!  Except the muddy shoes and paws part!  Russell’s place is fantastic. Grassy meadows and trees!  Beautiful setting and gracious folks, sure made us feel welcome! Took a tour of the workshop, and wow!  I am in love with the new instruments they have coming out now.  They have added another bass course an octave lower than […]

  • Memphis! Home of the Blues

    thumbnail

Arrived in Memphis from Nashville.  Lots to see here. First, we toured Beale street in downtown Memphis.  BB King has a restaurant here, lots of local, live entertainment at all of the bars and cafes.  Here are some great signs.    We went into the famous Schwabs General store. You can b’suy anything from old tin toys, felt hats to bib overalls! Cool. We toured the downtown main street too!  Lots of local talent and restaurants.  Also toured the Lorraine Hotel […]

  • Nashville was great!

    thumbnail

We had an eventful week in Nashville.  We toured the Ryman Auditorium, the Country Music Hall of Fame.  We saw the Bakersfield Sound exhibit there and it was great!  We also toured the downtown streets and ate at Jack’s BBQ.  It was good BBQ.  We went to Gruhn Guitar Shop (that is where Randy bought his Martin a few years ago). We toured the Hermitage (home of Andrew Jackson).  We ate at the Loveless Café and had their famous biscuits […]

  • Jerusalem Ridge/Bill Monroe

    thumbnail

Jerusalem Ridge!  This is the same festival that you can see on TV, called the Cumberland Highlanders. Great location, great people and great lineup. Weather didn’t behave, but it wouldn’t be a good festival if you didn’t invite Mother Nature!  Here is the home of Bill Monroe – father of bluegrass.  And also a picture of Rhonda Vincent and The Rage.

  • Jerusalem Ridge to Nashville!

    thumbnail

Wow! Jerusalem Ridge!  The festival was awesome!  I am so glad that we ending our 6 festival extravaganza with the best festival.  Before the festival started, we met Doc Campbell Mercer and were charmed!  For those that follow us and aren’t bluegrasser, Campbell runs the Jerusalem Ridge Festival and has a vested interest in all things “Bill Monroe”.  He and his league of volunteers really put on a great event. This is an event that we would like to return […]
