  • All About Aransas Pass!

    thumbnail

We were having so much fun in Aransas Pass that I neglected our website.  Sorry followers!  So let me get you up to date: We have really been having fun with the musicians at Ransom Road!  We have jams twice a week and a luncheon on Wednesday.  We have met so many nice folks this winter, and we have immediately been made to feel welcome.  This is definitely a great place to spend the winter.  Thanks everyone and we will […]

  • Aransas Pass, Texas

    thumbnail

Been a bit since I have updated my site!  We had Thanksgiving in New Braunfels and left the next morning, November 29.  We arrived in Rockport, Texas at Happy Camper RV Resort.  Not really a resort!  It was unfortunately, run down and not maintained, not to mention – full of stickers!  We weren’t very happy, since it had gotten good reviews.  Anyway, we stayed two weeks, meanwhile…we started looking at other parks in the area.  We found a great park in Aransas […]

  • Very Sad Day for My Family

    thumbnail

I have to tell you that we lost Mark Zweber today.  Mark, our brother, father, grandfather and friend lost his battle today!  I can’t help but believe that God took Mark home to remove him from all of his pain.  Mark had been quite ill for a long time, and life has just been too painful for him for so long.  Mark’s daughter, Katie was with him today, and my heart goes out to her and her family.  I will miss […]

  • Texas Hill Country

    thumbnail

    > We sure have been enjoying our time in New Braunfels, Texas.  We have been driving through the Lovely Hill Country!  We have seen Live music in the Famous Gruene Dance Hall.  Many Country stars have gotten their starts there.  We have heard good Blues Music at Oma Gruene’s Secret Garden, Great Tex Mex at the Dance Hall, and Fantastic Bluegrass at Black’s BBQ in Lockhart. Imagine that, BBQ and Bluegrass in the same place!  Our favorite two things.  We […]

  • Escapees RV Park experience!

    thumbnail

Well, we sure enjoyed our time in Livingston, Texas. The park was nice, nice neighbors and lots of squirrels for Rosie! She was actually inconsolable, and wanted to be outside all day chasing them! Unfortunately, just like most of our stops this fall, we were again met with tons and tons of rain. It poured for over two solid days, and water was everywhere. Livingston itself is a nice town, and it is on our short list for possible places […]

  • Oklahoma – Masterworks

    thumbnail

Arrived in Bennington on Monday, October 21st – in the rain of course!  We sure have been having weather.  Guess what, I love it!  Except the muddy shoes and paws part!  Russell’s place is fantastic. Grassy meadows and trees!  Beautiful setting and gracious folks, sure made us feel welcome! Took a tour of the workshop, and wow!  I am in love with the new instruments they have coming out now.  They have added another bass course an octave lower than […]

  • Memphis! Home of the Blues

    thumbnail

Arrived in Memphis from Nashville.  Lots to see here. First, we toured Beale street in downtown Memphis.  BB King has a restaurant here, lots of local, live entertainment at all of the bars and cafes.  Here are some great signs.    We went into the famous Schwabs General store. You can b’suy anything from old tin toys, felt hats to bib overalls! Cool. We toured the downtown main street too!  Lots of local talent and restaurants.  Also toured the Lorraine Hotel […]

  • Nashville was great!

    thumbnail

We had an eventful week in Nashville.  We toured the Ryman Auditorium, the Country Music Hall of Fame.  We saw the Bakersfield Sound exhibit there and it was great!  We also toured the downtown streets and ate at Jack’s BBQ.  It was good BBQ.  We went to Gruhn Guitar Shop (that is where Randy bought his Martin a few years ago). We toured the Hermitage (home of Andrew Jackson).  We ate at the Loveless Café and had their famous biscuits […]

  • Jerusalem Ridge/Bill Monroe

    thumbnail

Jerusalem Ridge!  This is the same festival that you can see on TV, called the Cumberland Highlanders. Great location, great people and great lineup. Weather didn’t behave, but it wouldn’t be a good festival if you didn’t invite Mother Nature!  Here is the home of Bill Monroe – father of bluegrass.  And also a picture of Rhonda Vincent and The Rage.

  • Jerusalem Ridge to Nashville!

    thumbnail

Wow! Jerusalem Ridge!  The festival was awesome!  I am so glad that we ending our 6 festival extravaganza with the best festival.  Before the festival started, we met Doc Campbell Mercer and were charmed!  For those that follow us and aren’t bluegrasser, Campbell runs the Jerusalem Ridge Festival and has a vested interest in all things “Bill Monroe”.  He and his league of volunteers really put on a great event. This is an event that we would like to return […]
